NEW TO KENDO

Classes are taught to a roughly 10 week curriculum with each week consisting of a new unit covering the lesson for that week. The class moves as fast or as slow as the students can manage and class content is adjusted as required.

You do not need to bring any equipment to your first class. Just wear loose fitting clothing appropriate for exercise ( e.g., sweats). At the first class, beginners will need to pay an additional equipment fee of $70 for a wooden practice sword (bokken) and a bamboo practice sword (shinai).  Optional sword bags will also be available for an additional $20.
